Beethoven died a couple hundred years ago, and please do not put his celestial music on the level of crass 'albums.'

When completing the 9th, Beethoven declared, "I am the Bacchus who presses out the glorious wine for mankind. Whoever truly understands my music is freed thereby from the miseries that others carry about in them."

Well, because he could and had an urge to do so. That's all the motive I could tell you, oh and he was already deaf when he wrote this.

This is not the entire work, just the last 2 parts, for Brahms' second symphony you can go to monteverdi #dot# tv slash rco, it's the entire work in high quality sound free for download. Played by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, currently the best orchestra in the world.

Well, it was not meant to be an "insult." I can't even begin to imagine what you might mean by that so therefore I don't know how to respond. As I said, very moving piece of music as Beethoven "gave to the symphony orchestra the final basic shape we know today." |
