The lyrics of this song are wonderfully well written, in so many different ways. The singer's perspective as The People or a sort of universal soldier makes this song about more than just protesting war - it describes humanity's moral growth.

SO good to see this vid! :) What he sang was so true & sadly we can add more verses to this song 32yrs after his sad death :( Still though I have Hope that Humanity will one day just wake up & stop fighting. Yeah, that sounds Utopian to think about but geez - SOMEONE has to have hope! PEACE! :)
