it is because of the many games for the ps2. Like now they are making a whole bunch of sequels to games for ps2. Like God of War 3, Spyro, Metal Gear Solid, and Grand Turismo. PS2 has 2,400 games and PS3 has only 300 with a total of 2,700 games. Xbox has 1,200 games and the 360 600 games, with a total of 1,800 games. And think about it, Xbox 360 has been around for a longer time than the PS3.

yes you can. but you have to buy a cable to transfer your memory data to the ps3. The ps3 has an internal memory card for ps2 and even ps1!
