it's drugs - i've read the script - those things with wings are hallucinations (Max gets drugged so he starts seeing them too)

the game has a good storyline so I hope they stick close to it. My opinion of the angels is yeh to do with the drugs, but also they're kinda symbolic, since the story is about revenge and redemption the angels fit perfectly

hope they do a good job of this and not trash it like some other computer game coverted movies.looks good though. Mark Wahlberg is a good start :)
