The Swedish goverment are hiding something, the first divers who went down to the wreck have been brought to silence by swedish government, many survivors of the disaster have died under strange circumstances. I cant proove that there was secret military stuff on board but there has to be something in all this because why all this secrecy!!! All people behind this disaster should be caucht and pressed for every tiny bit of information and then by Estonian law be sentenced to lifelong prison!!!!!!

I too feel the circumstances of this sinking, and in particular the events following, as well as the extraordinary investigation story, were very suspicious indeed.

Ok, apparently you have some experience. Sorry. I, however, learned recently that the radio traffic from M/S Estonia was most likely disturbed, probably on purpose. For as much as 3 minutes M/S Estonia was unable to send radio signals. That would maybe explain some of the confusion in the communication. Maybe you are right about the basic bridge equipment, I couln't tell, but for some reason the Mayday caller says he has a blackout in the system.

Blackout is f.e. when a vessel looses its electricity, power - and the emergency generators switch on

alot of alarms going off, indicating that several things are very wrong...:/

What means "Black-out"?
elyohcsrev (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
The fact remains that the rescue efforts were seriously hindered by the lack of position and the uncertainty of communications protocol. The basic bridge equipment (GMDSS, etc. )was, by law, battery powered and was evidently working. As for circumstances, with 30 odd years as a master, I've been in some pretty worrying situations. However, one is amazed how many deck officers are still unsure of emergency procedures. One felt sorry for them in those conditions.. but lessons to learn still |
